In the eyes of the World Health Organization (WHO), healthcare is a basic human right. In America however, the eligibility for healthcare being a right remains a reserve for the political class. Over the years, the aspect of national healthcare has seemed to be a complicated ideology. This paper however observes that healthcare is a right for all.Besides prospects of numerous social measures, a serious implication of healthcare being a right lies in the fact that the delivery system would be in a better position to offer preventive measures for sicknesses and diseases, especially chronic illnesses. It must be understood that diseases like cancer, for instance, can well be treated, and with lesser costs and higher chance s of survival if detected while in the early stages of progression.in other words, inadequate access to apposite healthcare is not just a question of money or financial stability rather a question of moral policy (Rashford, 2007).Looking back at the position of WHO, it is considered that "the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without the distinction of race, religion, political belief, or economic or social conditions" (WHO, 2014).
